Welcome

Welcome to Fraserburgh.com the website dedicated to providing you with information about Fraserburgh.

Fraserburgh, known locally as ‘the Broch’, is a town located on the north-east coast of Scotland 50 miles north of Aberdeen.  Fraserburgh has a population of over 13,000 and is surrounded by smaller fishing and farming communities, with the origins of the town dating back over 450 years.

Fraserburgh is most commonly known for it’s fishing industry, being the largest shellfish port in Europe and with some of it’s fishing vessels having featured heavily in the BBC Trawlermen programme.  Although the fishing industry is in decline it is estimated that around 60% of the emplyoment within the town is still dependant on the fishing industry.

The coastline around the town can only be described as epic, to the south stretches an endless beach with an expanse of sand dunes and links whilst to the west the rocky coastline develops into stunning bays and coves with sheer cliffs and hidden caves.  In both directions there are secluded and scenic fishing villages with small harbours and old fisherman’s cottages.

In and around Fraserburgh there is a wealth of visitor attractions ranging from sites of natural beauty and places of historical interest to modern visitor attractions.  A range of sporting activities are also available in the area with the north-east being home to a number of quality golf courses as well as fishing, shooting and off-roading.
